It can influence learning, work, sleep, relationships, emotional regulation, decision making, health, safety, and the way a person learns to see themselves. Yet many people are still not identified in time. Others receive a diagnosis but never receive the context needed to understand how it relates to their lives. Children may grow up believing they are lazy, difficult, or unmotivated. Adults may spend years living with inconsistency, overwhelm, and self blame without understanding the source of their struggles. At the same time, the path to assessment can be expensive, slow, and inaccessible. NVOX FOUNDATION INC. was created from the understanding that technology alone is not enough. Access is also needed. Research must be open to external examination. And we need ways to reach people who may never recognize themselves in clinical language or a professional publication. ## This Is My Life's Mission The Story of Shlomi David Grandes I did not start NVOX because I was looking for the next company to build. I had built companies before. But NVOX came from somewhere completely different. I was identified as gifted in second grade, yet throughout my years in school I was repeatedly described as a failure. I had ability, but the system around me could not explain why I struggled so much to use it. I was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia at the age of 30. The diagnosis gave names to things that had followed me for years, but it did not give me the full context. Like many people, I thought ADHD was mainly about attention, concentration, forgetfulness, and restlessness. Only fourteen years later did I begin to understand its wider meaning. In January 2023, I spoke with a psychologist who worked in a maximum security prison in California. Drawing on her professional experience, she described how many of the people she encountered appeared to be living with ADHD that had never been properly identified or understood. I did not treat her observation as a scientific statistic. I treated it as a question I could not ignore. For months, I read research and spoke with professionals. I came to understand that this was not only about concentration, grades, or productivity. It was about education, work, relationships, health, decision making, quality of life, and the way a person understands themselves. That was the moment NVOX stopped being another company I was building. It became my life's mission. When ADHD is reduced to a joke, a trend, or another name for difficulty concentrating, it diminishes a real and significant condition and the people who live with it every day. ### People Deserve to Understand Themselves Earlier A diagnosis is not only a label. When it is reached responsibly and explained clearly, it can give someone a new language for understanding their life. ### Access to Assessment Should Not Depend on Financial Means Professional assessment should not be reserved for people with financial means, personal connections, or the good fortune to live near the right specialist. ### Evidence Should Withstand Real Examination We want external researchers and qualified professionals to examine the assumptions, methods, evidence layers, and technologies behind NVOX. Credible research may confirm a finding, limit it, challenge it, or open an entirely new question. But it does not replace the professional who understands the story, recognizes the complexity, and applies clinical judgment. ### Culture Can Open a Door Not everyone will recognize themselves in a professional publication. They may recognize themselves in a song, a game, a comedy performance, or another person's story. That is why culture is part of the mission itself. ## Access. Research. Culture. ### Access We work to reduce financial and systemic barriers that prevent individuals and families from reaching a responsible ADHD assessment. The goal is to help more people receive answers, understand themselves, and access the support that may be right for them. ### Research Through [NVOX Labs](https://nvox.org/research), the Foundation enables researchers to propose retrospective studies, build prospective studies, and independently validate evidence layers, measures, and methods. We are interested in research that is willing to test, challenge, and improve. ### Culture We use music, gaming, comedy, creativity, and personal stories to reach people beyond clinics, institutions, and professional language. Two Separate Organizations. NVOX FOUNDATION INC. and NVOX Inc. are legally and operationally separate entities. NVOX Inc. operates the clinical and technological platform behind NVOX.com. NVOX FOUNDATION INC. leads the public mission across access, research, culture, community, and philanthropy. The Foundation may use NVOX.com infrastructure for programs aligned with its mission through documented and appropriately governed arrangements. Foundation resources are intended to advance public benefit. When the Foundation supports assessments delivered through NVOX.com, funds are intended to cover the actual and appropriately documented cost of providing the assessment and are not intended to serve as a commercial growth engine for NVOX Inc. ## Governance, Transparency, and Responsibility The work of NVOX FOUNDATION INC. is grounded in clear separation between the Foundation and the company, responsible use of resources, privacy protection, research independence, professional responsibility, and appropriate management of conflicts of interest.
